TRIP TO SHIMLA

If one has to prepare a list of the favorite and most visited tourist destinations of our country, Shimla will definitely be at the top of that list. This small hill town has enjoyed the status of being favored one for almost two centuries now. British arrived here in the early 1800s and liked the place so much that they declared it as their summer capital.

The beauty of this place is no less than it was a century ago, and still attracts thousands of tourists each year from all parts of the century. The same happened with my family, we too got attracted towards this place and planned a trip to Shimla- “The Queen of Hills.”

My family majorly prefer railways for travelling but you can use any of your favorable transport. We booked 6 tickets of Shatabdi Express. Among those, two tickets were of my parents, one was mine, two for my siblings and another one for my lovely grandma.

27 March 2019, finally the day arrived. In the early morning we left for New Delhi railway station. As always, we were on time my excitement was at its peak. It took us 5 hours to reach Kalka station. From there we had to travel by Toy Train to reach Shimla. Normal trains can’t pass through the small tunnels and Toy Train being smaller in size it would pass easily. We reached Shimla in 2 hours. The service in both the trains was very nice.

SHIMLA

We had already booked our rooms in Hotel Grand. After travelling for continuous 7 hours, we all were tired and took some rest there. The next day we selected some specific places to visit. My father booked a cab for us. Then we went to tea and apple gardens. It was quite boring. Then we went to zoo. I saw a variety of species there. The one which I liked the most was the bear. He was playing, swinging and enjoying. Seeing him I wished my life could be the same: playing, eating, sleeping and having fun in life. No stress at all!

KUFRI

There we had the horse ride to reach at the height of the hill. There were some yaks for photoshoot and some games to play. There were some paid telescopes from which we could see the last village of India and Indo- China border. After having little fun there, then we left for Narkanda.

NARKANDA

It is a very beautiful place. All covered with snow even in the beginning of summer. We had our first experience with snow. Before that we wore PPE clothes and boots to prevent our clothes to get wet. We seriously enjoyed a lot there. Throwing snow balls on each other, sliding on snow and playing with it was fav part of this trip. Even we saw an igloo there which was made by locals. It made me feel like yes, now I have visited the hill station in a perfect way. I strongly advise you to visit this place.

After visiting so many places in single day, we all were tired and straight went to the hotel to have rest after having dinner. That day I was so happy and thanked my father for taking us to a wonderful trip.

The next day we decided to visit the mall road and Shri Hanuman Mandir famously known as Jhaku Temple. After visiting temple, we had a walk at the mall road. There was a church at its center we visited that also. Then we visited the local market and bought some gifts for our closed relatives and friends.

On 30th March, we checked out from the room and returned to our home following the same path we had to Shimla. It was so much fun there.
